In Dresden, the “Florence on the Elbe”, is captivated by the baroque splendour of the Zwinger, Semper Opera House and Frauenkirche. Painting gallery Alte Meister Works by Raphael, Rembrandt and Vermeer hang here – world art at eye level. Just a few kilometers away in Saxon Switzerland, high above the river, rises the Königstein Fortress – one of the largest mountain fortresses in Europe with spectacular panoramic views of the Elbe Valley. A cultural jewel is also Meißen: The first European porcelain was produced here in 1710. The MEISSEN Porcelain Manufactory is still active today – a fascinating place where craftsmanship, technology and history come together.

In the Luther Wittenberg The history of the Reformation begins with the posting of the theses at the Castle Church.
