Varied nature on the Weser cycle path
The Weser cycle path runs along the Weser through several nature parks, picturesque villages and lively half-timbered towns. The nature along the way is very varied. Cycle along the gentle mountain ranges of the Weserbergland with green valleys and gentle hills. In Porta Westfalica, the Weser, and with it the Weser cycle path, then follows its course into the North German lowlands. After the Weser breaks through the Weser Mountains, the Weser cycle path leads via Minden into the Mittelweser region. This is characterized by marsh, moor, heath and geest landscapes. Picturesque windmills and watermills accompany you to the Hanseatic city of Bremen. The Lower Weser, the tidal part of the Weser and the Wesermarsch landscape begins in Bremen. Dikes protect the course of the river here. In Nordenham-Blexen you take the ferry to the seaside town of Bremerhaven and follow the Weser cycle path through Cuxland. Here you go along the dike to Cuxhaven with a view of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea.
